Setting up a profile on a social media site is not enough. Some sites will delete your profile when there is no activity. There are different techniques based on your reach as well. For example, if you own a hair salon, you want to market to certain radius around your shop because it’s not beneficial when there are clients who are not willing to take a flight to your business. In other industries, the wider the spectrum of potential clients, the better.
Your brand is vital to your success so when it comes to maintaining these social media pages, make sure you leave in your own hands or someone you closely trust that shares your vision. A vindictive employee can tarnish a brand very easily. In addition, don't feel you have to sign up for EVERY possible social media page. If you can put the time towards that many, than by all means. Have a strategy with your approach.
